Troodos Mountains by Jeep

From the pier in Limassol an upward journey through the foothills of the Troodos mountains will ascend all the way to the highest peak, Mount Olympus, at 6,400 feet above sea level.

Breathtaking vistas of rugged hills and fertile valleys unfold as you drive towards Omodos village. Take a stroll through its narrow streets and browse in the multitude of shops surrounding the cobblestone square.

An off road drive through the forest will bring you to Gelefos Bridge built over a small stream by the Venetians. Enjoy a short walk to admire the natural beauty of the area and continue off road along a tranquil stream meandering through an evergreen forest past the village of Milikouri to Kykkos Monastery.

Built in the 11th century the monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary housing an icon painted by Saint Lucas. The monastery is the largest, richest and most important on the island.

Visit the monastery and take time out to relax over a delicious lunch in a restaurant at a nearby village. After lunch drive to Mount Olympus, the adobe of ancient Greek Gods marvelling at the stunning views below.

A final short stop to relax at a small waterfall with its lush vegetation, cool spring and lovely woody scents will take place before commencing the return to Limassol. The descend will be through traditional stone built villages and pinewoods.
