Tucked away in pine covered mountain slopes the picturesque village of Agros is renowned for its unique homemade products. Small privately owned home industries invite visitors to see the various processes required to manufacture chemical free delicious wine, fruit preserves, sweets and liqueurs as well as aromatic oils and perfumed candles. Rosa Damascena, a rose bush brought to Cyprus in antiquity from Mesopotamia is extensively and exclusively cultivated at Agros. It produces a bright pink flower whose delicate petals and intoxicating smell are a source of delightful concoctions.

In the House of Roses you will have the opportunity to see how hand made pottery for the storage of the products is made, the process of perfumed candle making and taste things such as rose aperitif, rose liqueurs, rose water and rose wine.

At Niki’s observe how women turn seasonal fruits into mouth-watering marmalades and jellies. From a large array of whole fruit preserves, karydaki (young tender walnuts) and their famous “soutzouko” made from fresh grape juice, flour and almonds are highly sought after. You’ll have the opportunity to sample some of the products. Complete your touring with a visit to a small winery at Mandria village where a guided tour through the premises will familiarize you with the process of wine making and tasting
